Trails at Bucks County Horse Park

Please be advised that the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has closed the Hidden Valley landfill to the public. The trails in that area are not usable at this time. Please respect any "no trespassing" signs you see posted. Thank you for your cooperation.

BCHP Trail Recognition Award Program

Horse Park Members who have logged their hours on the Trail will be recognized and at the Annual Awards Banquet. There is an annual $25 enrollment fee, hours are cumulative from year to year and awards given depending on benchmark number of hours spent on the trail!

Trail System

The trail system at Bucks County Horse Park uniquely sets us apart from other horse parks in the northeast. Only at BCHP can one hack into the woods, gallop down a former airstrip, forge across the end of a pond, and enjoy a leisurely walk up and down wooded hills. Trails originate on the main section of the Park property owned by the Bucks County Park and Recreation Department and meander through dedicated easements on private property as well as trails graciously lent to us by our neighbors.

Throughout the history of the Park, many trails have been established and marked for use. The passage of time, hurricane Sandy, and other strong storms have taken their toll on the trails. Currently the Bucks County Horse Park is focusing energy and time repairing the trail system for Park members and visitors.

Current projects to improve and identify Park trails include:

  • Removing dead Ash trees and replanting as needed.
  • Re-marking the color coded trails
  • Determination of accurate trail distances
  • Ordering new signage and distance markers
  • Posting signs that designate entrances to trail systems for Community Emergency Responders
  • New Trail maps
